Keir's Blog Revival Awakening.

Revival Awakening.

I used these two words together because both are integrated in the very depths of humanity becoming aware that there is a God the Creator.

Revive - means something is not operating at 100%. It can do better.

Awakening - means something is dormant or asleep; and is the process of becoming aware of something more.

Revival begets Evangelism.

It is Biblical.

Unfortunately, churches try to do evangelism and this ends up in exhaustion, frustration and another program or method in the church machinery. If people were awakened or revived themselves with burning hearts they would have flaming tongues – then they would be doing evangelism automatically.

Recently, Callie and I were in a mining town in South Africa. The churches there had asked us in to teach/train on Evangelism.

We did. We came with revival in our hearts and God ignited a whole new climate in the church which now has the potential to affect the atmosphere over their communities – if not town.

The points listed below, were part of the long weekend input. Enjoy.

1. Spiritual hunger:

• Hunger can wane through any hardship, disappointment, or success. Many believers tend to lose their heart and hunger for God either through the cares/careers of this world, the deceitfulness of riches.

• Remain more focused on the Lord than on success.

• Choose to build your life around pleasing God,

o Not establishing a reputation for yourself.

o Feeling secure in Him.

o Having your needs met etc.

• Remain a lifelong student.

2. Do something now:

• Do not be driven by pressure, or stagnate in apathy.

• Give God something to work with in your faith so that He can respond to your faith.

• Anything worth doing is worth doing now. None of us are promised another day so make every day count for the Kingdom of God.

3. Do not despise your past:

• Never lose sight of the past and the good that you have learned.

• Never let your past determine your future.

• The Lemons of life can become Lemonade; depending on how you taste it.

4. Prayer and fasting:

• In the Azusa Street Revival: Alfred Garr, who had a church in the same town as William Seymour; noticed that the Lord had decided to attend Seymour's meetings because he had been invited.

• Instead of attempting to attract people, Seymour tried to attract the Lord.

• Prayer and fasting of the pathways, for the Holy Spirit to venture on.

5. The necessity of power:

• Depend on the power of God to move, more then you're preaching to cause Him to move.

• Preach and teach until people repent and then their faith in God is increased Heb 6.

• When people turn to God then there will be the release of healing power in response.

• As a result of dependence on God's power, you find remarkable success in winning souls.

6. Staying in your calling:

• Learn not to abandon your calling for security or prominence.

• Campaigns in continual preaching has resulted in as many as six congregations established.

• This I have found in poor countries; and

• So many were released into pastoral ministry because of this "Act" 'method'.

7. Does situations dictate God's move's?:

• God is a respecter of faith not persons. He moves in response to faith.

• Prominence does not equal success in the Kingdom of God.

• Some would say that God moved in those days saying- "those were special times–God was just doing a special thing back then."

• Do we have to wait until God decides to move this way again?

• God desires to move this way in every generation. Times are always made special by the amazing faith and radical obedience of men and woman of God. The Kingdom of God came in response to their faith and obedience–they realize that God was willing and waiting to move on their behalf, and they acted on it.
